Nuc purchases are for PICK-UP AT OUR STORE IN CORVALLIS ONLY. WE DO NOT SHIP NUCS.
IMPORTANT: Nucs can be held at Shonnard’s for up to 5 days if you can’t make it right away. If you are going to be out of town that weekend and would prefer to have a friend pick up your nuc this is also fine. The nucs are in bee-tight boxes suitable for travel. Your friend can place the nuc next to your hive and crack the entrance so the bees can come and go until you return to install them into their permanent hive.
Be sure to have your hive equipment assembled, painted, and ready for your bees. You will also need some 1:1 sugar syrup made ahead of time (never boil syrup!) to feed your bees once they are installed in the hive. Protein patties are also a good addition – your bees have some pollen and honey in reserve, but will be growing quickly and will benefit from the nutritional boost as they become established.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU ARRIVE
Upon your arrival, enter our store through the main doors and check-in at our floral counter located on the south side of our store. We’ll ask for your name to find your order, give you a copy of installation instructions, and then send you out to get your bees.
