Getting Ready for Spring
It’s Monday and cloudy but the daffodils and plum trees are blooming. You just can’t help smiling knowing spring is just around the corner.
We are redoing a large portion of our 15-year-old garden this spring. Last weekend we replanted the strawberries and raspberries. I got the fruit trees sprayed with copper fungicide, even though some will get their pruning done this weekend. We have also laid out where our new raised beds are to go. Weather permitting, construction will begin this weekend.
I know it seems early, and it is, but I mowed my lawn last week and will be putting down my spring lime and fertilizer tomorrow. If time allows I will get my preemergent weed control spread as well. Also it is time for cranefly control.
It is a big list but with help from Lynnette we will put a dent in it. Our logic is, if we get it done early we will have more time to enjoy the garden later. Until next week, keep gardening for your health.
